Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric or 1-inch piece fresh turmeric, grated
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger or ½ tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee, if tolerated
  • 3 –4 drops liquid stevia optional, adjust to taste

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine almond milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and coconut oil.
    2 cups unsweetened almond milk, 1 tsp ground turmeric, ½ tsp ground cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground ginger, 1 pinch ground black pepper, 1 tsp coconut oil
  • Warm gently over medium heat, whisking continuously until hot but not boiling (about 5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat, stir in stevia if using, and whisk until frothy.
    3 –4 drops liquid stevia
  • Pour into mugs and serve warm.

  • Black pepper is essential for activating curcumin in turmeric.
  • Fresh turmeric and ginger give a more vibrant flavor but powdered spices work well too.
