Onions, garlic, leeks all belong to the allium family of vegetables. They contain sulphur, an important compound when it comes to liver detoxification.
Other vegetables which also have these properties although not quite as powerful as tomatoes and beetroot, are green and red bell peppers (capsicums), red paprika, and sweet potato. Foods with this colouration contain high levels of carotenoids, capsanthin and anthocyanins.
